Junior Achievement of Central Florida

Needs business and community members in Osceola County to

serve as classroom volunteers for students in middle and high

schools.  JA mentors serve as positive role models and educate

students about financial literacy, work readiness, and

entrepreneurship.  Volunteer opportunities are available at

three levels and require approximately one-hour per week

for five to seven sessions.  Middle school programs utilize

problem-solving activities to help students develop skills for

success.  High school programs prepare students for the

business world through courses in personal finance, economics,

and business, emphasizing real-world applications.  Training is

held monthly.  For more information, call 407.847.2518

National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer tradition predates the

founding of the United States of America, evidenced by the

Continental Congress’ proclamation in 1775 setting aside

a day of prayer.

In 1952, Congress established an annual day of prayer

and, in 1988, that law was amended, designating the

National Day of Prayer as the first Thursday in May.
