Boy Scout, Troop 192 Spaghetti Dinner

Where: First United Methodist Church, 1000 10th Street, St. Cloud

When: 4-7:30pm on Saturday, January 19 

All you can eat and drink, including dessert!  The meal includes homemade spaghetti sauce, garlic bread, salad bar, desserts, coffee, tea, and lemonade. Please bring your family and friends.  It is $7 per person or $24 for a family of four.  Dine in or carry-out available.

 

Florida Retired Educators Association Scholarship

Kissimmee Valley Audubon Society

Where: Kissimmee Utility Authority Board Room, 1701 W. Carroll Street, Kissimmee, FL

This very unique and interesting program will be about Green Slimy Things, and will be presented by Dr. Jan Landsberg. Dr. Landsberg is a biologist with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.  Dr. Landsberg identifies various species of harmful algae and determines their effects on ocean ecosystems, including their effects on fish, birds, marine reptiles, and mammals. She is also interested in the potential role of biotoxins in acute and chronic mortality of aquatic organisms and sometimes birds, and studies the long-term effects of chronic exposure to biotoxins on human health.  Meetings are free and are open to the public. The Osceola Crafter’s Guild

The Friends Who Care Club of Osceola County

Where: St. Cloud Senior Center, 3101 17th Street

When: 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

 

Members conduct various "Fun-Raisers" throughout the year to help local charities and the American Cancer Society's annual Relay for Life.  This year, the St. Cloud Event will be held in April and the present project will be a bus trip to the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa.  The trip is open to the public and is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13.

 

The bus will leave the Publix Shopping Center on Dyer Blvd., Kissimmee at 11:45 am; Partin Settlement Publix Shopping Center, St. Cloud, at 12:15 pm and the Senior Friends' Building, Kissimmee at 12:45 pm.  Guests may choose any of the stops, but must have a reservation. Membership is open to men and women from 18 years and up.

 

 

Cost is $25 per person and includes $30 Free Play ticket which is given to each passenger when they arrive at the Casino.  Guests will have an opportunity to enjoy the activities at the Casino from 2 to 7pm. For additional information or reservations, call Irene at .

The mission of the Osceola County Tobacco Prevention Partnership

is to promote a tobacco-free environment for Osceola County

residents and visitors. The partnership meets once a quarter and

participates in a variety of community events  such as

health fairs and public presentations throughout the year.

community by promoting tobacco-free and healthy lifestyles,

the Partnership is the group to join.

BOOKMARK BUDDIES, MENTORING PROGRAM

The Bookmark Buddies Mentoring Program is an exciting opportunity for you to

become involved with the Education Foundation - Osceola and make a difference

in the life of a child.  Our third graders in St. Cloud need your help to practice and

improve their reading skills before the important FCAT testing in the spring.

Mentors meet each week for thirty minutes with a third grade student

who needs that little push to become a successful reader and lifelong learner.

No prior tutoring experience is necessary, and all training and materials

are provided, making for an easy and fun volunteer experience!

Bookmark Buddies will start in September and meet weekly through May.
